How quickly does the atelier reply to concierge inquiries?

Every letter is read by a named member of the concierge desk and acknowledged within two working days (Mon–Fri, Porto time). Complex bespoke or restoration briefs may take an additional three to five days for a substantive reply.

Can I commission a fully bespoke Flapierre piece?

Yes. Bespoke commissions begin at €1,850 and are reserved for no more than 36 clients per year. The atelier pairs you with one of the nine master artisans, who works the piece from cut to final burnish. Lead times range from 10 to 16 weeks.

How does the lifetime restoration program work?

Any Flapierre piece — wallet, journal, weekender, archive tote — can be returned to the atelier for restoration at cost, regardless of age. Where possible the piece is routed back to the artisan who originally finished it. Typical restoration time is 6 to 10 weeks; shipping is organised by the concierge desk.

Do you work with boutiques on wholesale or private-label projects?

Yes. Flapierre works with a curated list of independent stockists and accepts wholesale enquiries for batches of 25 pieces or more. Private-label runs begin at 60 pieces per design and require a minimum 12-week lead time.

Can I visit the atelier in Porto?

The atelier welcomes visitors by appointment on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, with up to eight slots available per month. Book through the concierge desk at least three weeks in advance.

Questions the concierge answers most often

A few notes before you write.

How long does a restoration take, end to end?: A typical repair — relining, edge restoration, hardware replacement — is quoted within 10 working days and completed within 6 to 10 weeks once approved. Complex structural work can run to 14 weeks. We never subcontract restoration; the piece stays in Porto.
Is there a minimum order for a bespoke commission?: Yes — €1,800, which covers a minimum of fourteen hours of bench time. Most bespoke pieces fall between €2,400 and €6,500. We do not accept commissions below the threshold because we cannot guarantee the hand-finishing time the atelier is known for.
What are your wholesale lead times?: Twelve to sixteen weeks from confirmed order to delivery, depending on the piece. We release wholesale stock four times a year — January, April, July, and October — and cap each release at 200 pieces per design to protect the small-batch nature of the work.
Can international clients visit the Porto atelier?: Yes — by appointment, twelve visitor slots per month, never more. Visits last approximately ninety minutes and include a walk of the cutting bench, the saddle-stitching room, and the burnishing station.
